Natural Horsemanship Trainer / Ranch Manager (6256)

Family-owned, 56-acre horse farm is looking to add a dependable person to our team. We raise and show World & Nationally recognized Miniature Horses along with a small herd of Warmblood, Thoroughbred & Quarter Horses which we enjoy working cattle on to competing on the hunter circuit. Our farm is home to a colt starting & foundation training program based on natural horsemanship techniques that we utilize on all the horses we own. Candidate must be passionate about horses and ready to be in charge of day-to-day responsibilities such as:
- Caring for the horses - taking them to and from the pasture, grooming, medicating
- Assist with minis - learn to drive (hack them), operate the exerwalker (cardio), help halter break
babies
- Assist with training program (possible riding)
- Ordering feed and making daily feed buckets, cleaning water tanks, setting up the vet/farrier
- M-F 8-5pm, during show season may attend shows or stay to manage ranch

Desired Employee Qualifications & Skills
- Management minded, self-starter, punctual, able to make decisions
- Team player who is open to learning new techniques and methods
- Experience in natural horsemanship. Specifically Ray Hunt, Tom Dorrance, Buck Brannaman,
Lee Smith, etc.
- Experience with breeding/foaling
- Available to travel to shows and to foal watch/ranch sit
- A mature individual with ties to the community would be a plus
- Applicant must be 18 years or order and legal to work in the U.S.
